La designaci�n como Embajador de Canad� en Ecuador, reemplazando a Otch von Finckenstein, representa para mi un honor y un privilegio.  En tan corto tiempo de estad�a en Ecuador, he tenido la oportunidad de conocer a muchos de ustedes y espero que en los meses siguientes pueda contactar a todos los miembros de la C�mara.

It is an honour and privilege for me to have the opportunity to serve as Canada's new Ambassador to Ecuador, replacing Otch von Finckenstein effective October 30.  I have already had the pleasure of meeting many of you in my short time in the country, and I look forward to getting to know all Chamber members well in the months and years ahead.

For Canadians, you can�t think of Christmas without thinking of snow, crisp winter air, evergreen boughs hanging low with the weight of snow, evenings of good food, drink and friends that warm our bellies and our hearts. In Quebec and French Canada, Christmas is usually celebrated on Christmas Eve and a famous Christmastime food is "tourti�re" which is a delicious meat pie. In Western Canada there are beautiful mountains covered in snow that just can�t wait to be skied upon. In Eastern Canada there are frozen lakes and rivers for ice skating and long stretches of abandoned train tracks perfect for cross-country skiing.

Hablar de las tradiciones navide�as en el Ecuador es hablar de muchas ceremonias y tradiciones que se llevan a cabo antes y durante la Navidad, un pa�s con su poblaci�n casi en su totalidad de religi�n cat�lica da paso a eventos relacionados directamente con el nacimiento de Jesucristo hace 2000 a�os en Bel�n, fuera un poco del tinte comercial que ha ganado terreno en los �ltimos 50 a�os.
