VISIT ECUADOR
Although Ecuador is the smallest country in South America, within its territory
we can find a magical combination of nature scenery and ecosystems.
From the colonial capital of Quito, you can travel by frequent buses to Indian
markets, remote jungle towns and warm Pacific beaches.
Jungle travel in Ecuador is easier than in most countries because the distance
in less than a day by public transportation.
The coast has a lot to offer too. Observe local fishermen return from sea, in
their balsa-wood rafts, to the sandy shore or help them pull in their nets in
return for some fresh catch. Enjoy swimming in the warm sea and listen to
tropical music in a local bar. The animals in the Galapagos Island are so
unafraid of humans that it would be wise to watch out where you step. Here you
can swim with sea lions and penguins or walk along beaches while endemic bird
species flap by and the sun sets at the horizon.
Besides its natural richness, it is also important to mention Ecuador's ethnic
groups. Ecuador has the highest average population density in South America and
the highest percentage of native Americans. In Ecuador, there are about eleven
Indian nationalities, each one with its distinctive language and customs,
making Ecuador a fascinating multi-cultural land.
With its array of vibrant indigenous cultures, well preserved colonial
architecture, other incredible volcanic landscapes and dense rainforest, it
packs its perimeters with more points of interest than many countries twice its
size.
The location on the equator and the natural regions make Ecuador an enchanting
country of great diversity, worth to visit.
