The British School, Quito is an autonomous, not-for profit English language day school offering small class sizes and high quality education from Nursery (3yrs) to Year 13 (Grade 12). Courses are taught by fully qualified specialist teachers, most from the UK. The school follows the National Curriculum for England and Wales, leading to the Cambridge University accredited IGCSE exams in Year 11, and the IB Diploma program in Years 12 & 13. Our program of study fulfils the requirements of the General Ecuadorian Baccalaureate; we are accredited by both the Ecuadorian and British Ministries of Education, are a member of the Council of International Schools (CIS) as well as the CIStA and are licensed program providers for the Duke of Edinburghs International Youth Award. Spanish is a core subject for all students, and with Ecuadorian Social Studies required for the older classes, we believe that our school provides students with an opportunity for all-round excellence, allowing them to fulfil their academic and moral potential as well as promoting their healthy physical and emotional development.
